My name is Gina McDonald. I am a 42-year-old married mother of a 22-year-old son. For the past four years, I have been by my wife’s side as she fights stage four lung cancer. However, over a year ago on May 7th, I suffered an ischemic stroke. I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for nearly eighteen years, and now I'm navigating a new career as a unit secretary. I decided to blog about my experiences in hopes of helping someone else who is going through similar issues and maybe even helping myself by possibly providing a community for other care takers and people dealing with illnesses.
